We had to complete a late fall clean up at this property in Wynantskill, Ny. We trimmed any day lily, hydrangea, tulips and any other perennial to its base. We all trimmed down all of the rose shrubs for the winter. The leaves were raked out and all stone walkways were blown off from debris.

De Thatching a lawn in Loudonville, New York 12211

Here are some before & after pictures of a lawn that we de-thatched in Loudonville, NY.

Notice all of the dead grass throughout the lawn.

De-thatching is important for the health of your lawn. Especially if you have alot of thatch or other decaying organic matter that has gathered. Once you de-thatch your lawn you will remove the layer that is actually suffocating your grass roots. Any fertilizer, nutrients, or water will now be able to soak directly into the soil.

The Power Raker Machine definitely saves you alot of time when you compare it to how long it would take to manually steel rake an entire lawn!

The lawn is now prepared to have grass seed spread. Make sure to water your grass seeds for at least 1 week each day after the initial spread. Keep an eye where the problem areas are and be persistent.

Cut out edge and installed cobblestone border.

When we arrived the edger block around the back patio was not level and sinking into the soil.

To keep the blocks level we used some crush run and stone dust.

It is very important that the blocks are level and square.

The customer wanted to have more edger block around the left side of the house to zig zag around towards the back patio.

This lawn is going to be able to soak in any water evenly now.

We planted the birch clump a few months ago.

We brought in the crusher run and stone dust for the base.

This is a good shot to show how easily the existing soil grade
would wash right to the pavement without this small cement block retaining wall.

We dug the trench deep making sure the base would be extra sturdy.

This bottom image shows roots that were in the way,
had to tuck them back underground where they belong.

Yes.. I know the grade is tremendous!

These pictures are from after we lopped out 6 bushes branches..

We dug these roots out with shovels. We said forget the chain.

So far we have all the roots and bushes removed.

Next will be the crusher run and stone dust base for the walls!

I don't believe I actually took pictures of the bushes that were all across the front of the building under the windows. There were 6 evergreen bushes that looked like a hedge. They were overgrown and needed to be removed.

This was a project that we did in Latham New York.

All mulched, trimmed and raked up. Nice classy landscape for a home built in the 60's.

As you can see some of the bushes were very old and brown on the inside.

A few shots after we had chopped all of the weeds and sod out for our mulch bed install.

Fresh warm mulch coming right up!

These were some of the largest bushes in the country! They were above the roof for sure. We trimmed them alot. It's too bad I don't have any before pictures.

I have some pictures from this job out in Wynantskill, NY
while we were working and some when we were finished.

The bushes were all over grown and the weeds were tall.

We had to bring in about 12 yards of mulch for the front of this property. We freshened up the edges around the mulch beds and dug out all unwanted plants.

Shaped all of the bushes up a bit.
